In a recent op-ed for CTMirror, Andrew Feinstein criticized the custody movement, stating:
“The movement has clenched its teeth on spreading falsehoods. Critical racial theories are somehow part of social-emotional learning. public schools teach children adult sex, these canards are effective in putting school administrators on the defensive and, in the long run, tend to reduce the quality of public education.”
Perhaps Feinstein is unaware of the following developments in Connecticut over the past year:
1. A Hartford school nurse posted on Facebook that teachers and school administrators identified and counseled transgender students without parental consent or awareness. I was on vacation.
2. An Enfield 8th grade class was given the task of choosing a pizza topping as a code for their preferred sex act.
3. Greenwich assistant principal said in a secret Project Veritas video that he would not hire teachers who questioned the transgender agenda
4. A Southington English teacher upsets parents by discussing white privilege, indigenous peoples, transgender people, institutional racism, gender pronouns, and the term Latino.
He added: [public school] model. It uses age-old gender and race tropes to try and segregate students. “
Has Feinstein ever set foot in a classroom in Bridgeport? If so, he would find it almost all in the minority. Is there? If so, he’ll realize it’s lily white. This is due to complex zoning laws designed to keep communities from changing. Liberal white towns such as Woodbridge, which voted 68% for Biden and 31% for Trump in 2020, are trying to block zoning changes that would allow more minorities to live there. I am fighting with all my might. In fact, a group of Yale University attorneys are suing Woodbridge to change this.
Moreover, the private schools, particularly parochial schools, that Feinstein condemns are much more diverse. When my daughters attended Catholic school in Fairfield, their friends were Black, Haitian, Asian, Indian, and Hispanic. However, in middle school, my wife and I transferred because we felt Fairfield Public Schools offered an excellent education. But the school was lily white.
Feinstein further states: “
perhaps. But their power pales in comparison to the Connecticut teachers’ union. They were so powerful that they managed to get paid while staying at home during the pandemic based on questionable science. As a result, test scores for minority students have plummeted. Connecticut does not have a voucher program that would allow poor and minorities to escape inferior public schools.
Feinstein is a lawyer who has dedicated his life to ensuring that students with disabilities receive quality education. He has a child with cerebral palsy. His opinion must be respected. He definitely represented different students, including transgender, who have been bullied mercilessly.
But parents who pay taxes to fund schools should have an opinion on how their children are educated, rather than being forced to simply accept the opinions of professional educators. is. As a doctor, I know more about my patients than they do. But I never force my opinion on my patients.
why? Patients have the right to digest information about their condition and make informed choices. If my actions are wrong, the patient will suffer the consequences. Tax-paying parents deserve to be treated with the same respect as their children’s education.
