As an independent brand and progressive manufacturer, MYKITA is proud to lead by example by being the first in the eyewear industry to completely switch its acetate supply to sustainable acetate renews. Artfully shot, this film showcases the finest attention to detail and the best of this revolutionary material that allows for a complete reorientation without compromising the look or performance of MYKITA’s handcrafted eyewear designs. We emphasize quality.

The film also showcases Eastman’s pioneering molecular recycling technology, using CGI to break down previously difficult-to-recycle plastics down to the molecular level to produce recycled acetate of the same quality as conventional plastics. It partially visualizes the process of forming the . material. This circular economy innovation makes it possible to actively divert material waste from landfills, incinerators or, ultimately, the ocean.

Eastman Acetate Renew is a mostly bio-based material made from certified sustainable wood pulp using recycled waste plastics instead of fossil-based resources. Identical in look, feel and performance to the highest quality traditional acetate, Acetate Renew creates eyewear frames with a much lower carbon footprint, with up to a third reduction compared to traditional manufacturing processes. It will come true.
